Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director - External Affairs, the Director of Corporate Relations is responsible for overseeing and significantly growing New York Cares' portfolio of corporate donors and the related annual corporate revenue goal ($2.4 million in FY11).

Managing a team of six corporate relations professionals, including two direct reports, in all aspects of their efforts to achieve aggressive fundraising and programmatic departmental goals

Community Outreach Manager
Reporting to the Director of Volunteer Relations, the Community Outreach Manager is responsible for working alongside the Volunteer Relations Manager and Assistant to grow our presence in the outer boroughs, as well as implementing creative strategies for engaging a diverse group of volunteers in service.
Responsibilities:
Developing and executing community outreach strategies to recruit and engage a diverse population in volunteer service with New York Cares. Areas of diversification include age, ethnicity, gender and neighborhood of residence.
Starting, scheduling and leading volunteer orientations in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island
Providing e-mail and telephone support for all volunteers
Compiling and editing weekly communications to target volunteers
Completing data entry and tracking relating to outreach activities

Researching statistics that support the need of New York Cares' work
Planning and managing projects related to expansion / volunteer diversification
Managing borough specific volunteer councils meetings

Multi-Media Design and Production Manager
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Director, the Multi-Media Design and Production Manager produces communication materials that clearly speak to New York Cares' targeted audiences, maintains the organization's brand, stays within predetermined budgets, and meets designated deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Manages the organization's print communication needs, including the design, production, cost analysis, print supervision, and product fulfillment for a variety of collateral. These include, but are not limited to: the annual report, the annual program guide, print ad campaigns, brochures, posters, invitations, event programs, signage, banners, and premiums.
Negotiates costs with vendors for printing, mailings, and premiums and ensures timely delivery of quality materials.
Designs graphic elements for the organization's website, e-mail campaigns, and other digital communications.
Ensures consistent implementation of the organization's branding and style guide in all materials, including those disseminated by other departments using branded templates.
Oversees interns, choosing and supervising appropriate projects and providing a meaningful experience for the students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 3 years of solid graphic design and production experience.
Expert in In-Design, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Knowledge of Flash and video editing a plus.
Experience working with HTML, DHTML, Javascript, and CSS.
Copy editing experience a plus.
Highly motivated and creative with a thorough understanding of best practices within traditional and non-traditional marketing platforms, including web design and print production.
Must be comfortable following direction and implementing changes, while balancing strong design and short deadlines.

Community Programs Intern
Reporting to the Community Programs Officer, the Fall Intern will focus primarily on assisting the Community Programs department with a variety of on-going projects. Community Programs plans a wide variety of volunteer projects, including arts, sports, and culinary programming for children; activities for seniors; murals in public schools and community centers; walking dogs and socializing cats in animal shelters; and serving meals in soup kitchens. Interns will assist with data entry and other administrative tasks, updating scavenger hunts for Urban Adventure field trips, checking project supplies, and other work to support programming within the department. Interns should be prepared to travel throughout the five boroughs.

Visiting museums and other potential sites for Urban Adventure field trips, and planning scavenger hunts for those locations

Corporate Service Intern
Reporting to the Corporate Service Officer, the Corporate Service Intern provides broad-based support to the Corporate Relations Department in the office and during corporate service projects. Reporting to the Manager of Individual Giving and Special Events, the Development Intern provides broad-based administrative, research, and fundraising event support to the New York Cares' Development Department. The internship will be anchored by projects related to three major fundraising events.
Responsibilities:
The intern will be given weekly administrative tasks in the Development Department, including:

Graphic Design Intern
The Graphic Design Intern will assist the Marketing and Communications Department in the production and maintenance of a diverse range of print and web materials that are essential to the organization's outreach, funding, and image. The internship provides a great opportunity to gain exposure to the differences between the classroom and the real world production process from concept to final delivery.
Responsibilities:
Work with existing templates for newsletters, reports, stationary, fliers, ads, day-of-event materials, and one-sheet communications to make updates and edits
Apply the organization's brand and style guides consistently across all materials
Work with vendors to collect price quotes for print jobs
Use Adobe Bridge to organize, catalog, and keyword new photos entered into the database
Update HTML code for Web site and online materials such as e-mail newsletters
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of QuarkXpress, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop on a Mac platform
Experience with Dreamweaver or equivalent program with basic HTML skills
Knowledge of PHP, CSS, and Javascript helpful, but not necessary

New Media Intern
The Marketing and Communications Department produces a diverse range of materials that are essential to the organization's outreach, funding, and image. Reporting to the Online Marketing Manager, the New Media Intern will assist in efforts to monitor and maintain the New York Cares brand on the Web, including social networking initiatives, research into digital media trends and strategies, the maintenance of our Web site, and the production of a monthly online traffic report.
Responsibilities:
Writing blogs and posting new features and interactive content to our social media sites
Monitoring interactions with supporters via social media and responding to their posts
Tracking mentions of New York Cares on the Web through Google Alerts and other programs
Collecting and analyzing metrics from social media and e-mail campaigns
