After 14 years of partnership with New York Cares, Morgan Stanley yet again raised the bar on their community service activities. Not content with collecting hundreds of coats for needy New Yorkers; answering an astounding 2,200 gift requests from children, teens and families who might otherwise have received little or nothing for the holidays; and, devoting 2 full days to revitalizing schools and parks (in the last year alone!), the volunteers of Morgan Stanley still wanted to do more.
In typical Morgan Stanley style, this summer, they embarked upon the second annual Morgan Stanley month of service. New York Cares planned 10 projects for Morgan Stanley during June, providing employees with the opportunity to participate in a range of different projects. Children at an elementary school in Brooklyn were thrilled to receive some one-on-one attention as volunteers read "Sylvester and the Magic Pebble," then worked with the children to paint their own magic pebbles; a school in Harlem was transformed with bright new murals; lonely seniors were given a reason to smile after receiving handmade Independence Day cards; a home daycare program for low-income children received colorful kits to encourage creative play; a community garden in the Bronx was made wheelchair accessible; the list of incredible projects undertaken by Morgan Stanley goes on.
In 14 years of partnership, Morgan Stanley has provided significant financial support and contributed more than 4,000 hours of service through New York Cares. New York Cares is extremely proud to count Morgan Stanley as a true partner in helping to make our city an even better place to live and work.
