For the third summer in a row, New York Cares' celebrity friends are all around town. Look for Whoopi Goldberg, Jimmy Smits, Alec Baldwin, and Penny Marshall on posters and ads throughout the city. We hope the campaign will raise awareness of New York Cares, and encourage more New Yorkers to volunteer.

"One of our long-term goals is for everyone to know New York Cares and support what we stand for -- that all New Yorkers can make our city stronger by helping their neighbors in need," said Colleen Farrell, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications. "To help us get the word out, we approached New York celebrities who care deeply about our city. We are grateful to Whoopi Goldberg, Jimmy Smits, Alec Baldwin and Penny Marshall for their support of this year's campaign."

Look for New Yorkers Who Care from now through September on:

  • Subway 1-sheet posters
  • PATH train cards
  • Phone kiosks
  • Taxi tops
  • Billboards
  • Wildpostings in Manhattan
  • Popular magazines and newspapers, including The New York Times, Elle Décor, Martha Stewart Living, US News & World Report, TIME, the New York Observer, and more.
  • You can also see the 'real people' version of the campaign (featuring volunteers) on NBC Taxi TV screens, the Captivate elevator network in Manhattan office buildings, video screens in delis and restaurants, health clubs, and more.

New York Cares relies on donations from media companies to make our ad campaigns possible. We are grateful to the many generous media companies that donated space for this campaign, including:
