Charity: Compassionate Companion
Charity Diaz thrives off of the company of those she helps. As the Team Leader for a variety of projects, Charity inspires her volunteers to take a greater interest in the people they are helping.

Charity began volunteering with New York Cares in 2006 because she wanted to improve the standard of living for the New Yorkers she saw living in need around her. But what she got back from her service was even greater – a sense of community and hope.

My Most Meaningful Volunteer Moment:
"There is one resident at Bialystoker Nursing Home that I have developed a special bond with. Whenever I arrive, he is always waiting for me in the lobby. He draws pictures for me and always asks when I am coming next. I know I have brought a lot of joy into his life, but he has brought so much more into mine."
