David: Volunteer Enthusiast
David Halloran knows how to get people excited about service. He's been leading new volunteer orientations for New York Cares since 2007, and his passion for making volunteering fun is evident to everyone who hears him speak. David tells volunteers at the English Conversation Partners project he leads, "If the students are laughing, then you're doing it right."

David leads multiple projects each month – from teaching English to recent immigrants and playing with cats and dogs at shelters, to helping low-income New Yorkers maximize their tax refunds and delivering meals to homebound seniors – and he has a blast knowing he's making a lasting difference.

Why I Volunteer:
"Volunteering is fun. You get to meet people who choose to give their time and energy to causes they believe in. And you can change a life – maybe your own."
