Katie: Reading Friend
Katie has been getting a "crash course in literature" from reading to seniors at the Cabrini Center in Manhattan for the past five years. Katie's made "some amazing new friends" among the seniors since she began Team Leading the project. And she was well rewarded for her dedication when one of her new friends wrote her a poem for her wedding day.

I've been blessed with a loving family and supportive friends. I feel like I have to try to give back anyway I can, and New York Cares makes it easy.
