Lotus: SAT Tutor
Lotus became a New York Cares volunteer in 2004 and a Team Leader the following year, giving her time as an SAT tutor at the Thurgood Marshall Academy in Harlem. She has helped hundreds of youngsters improve their SAT scores and go on to college and a brighter future. She says, "With the commitment of the project partner and support of New York Cares, I have challenged myself to create a program that the students will be clamoring to join." And her classes fill up. Thank you, Lotus, for caring about the higher education of our city's youth.
