David: Hunger Fighter
As a volunteer and a Team Leader for a meal service project at the Church of St. Francis Xavier, David has served hot meals to thousands of homeless men and women. Since he started volunteering with New York Cares in 2005, he has also brightened the lives of hundreds of disadvantaged children, helping them with homework, teaching them about computers, playing sports, and taking them on recreational and cultural outings around the city. "I have so much fun experiencing new things in the city," David says. We're sure that the children do too!
