Twice each year, more than 11,000 New Yorkers give 60,000 hours of service by helping to transform our city parks, schools and community spaces in all five boroughs, while working alongside their neighbors.
These events allow individuals, groups of friends, families and corporate teams to make a difference in just one day, no orientation required. Each Cares Day is a serve-a-thon and critical fundraiser for New York Cares. Volunteers ask friends and family to donate in recognition of their volunteer work. These donations help us run life-changing programs throughout the year.
New York Cares Day Spring
Roll up your sleeves and join more than 5,000 volunteers at parks, community gardens and public spaces throughout the city on Saturday, April 21st. Discover a new park, meet a community gardener and learn about the importance of open space and recreation while making a real difference in the community. This event is generously sponsored by HSBC Bank.
New York Cares Day Fall
Join more than 6,000 volunteers and paint a brighter future for New York City public school students at our city's largest hands-on volunteer event. Create murals, paint classrooms and help New York City students express their vision for their future.
