New York Cares is committed to developing the next generation of volunteers. We offer several options for volunteers under the age of 18 to help their communities:

• Youth Service Clubs – Our award-winning program engages thousands of students from underserved high schools through service learning and volunteer activities.
   
• Group Volunteer Opportunities – These projects give New York City high schools and community organizations that are not already part of our Youth Service Club program the opportunity to do a one-time service learning and volunteering projects.

• Teen Service Team – This program provides students from all across the city the opportunity to get out into the community and make a difference each semester. The application for the Teen Service Team Summer cycle is now available and is due on June 14th, 2013.
   
• Days of Service – We welcome youth volunteers to join adult chaperones to revitalize public schools and clean and green parks and gardens on New York Cares Day Fall and Spring.
   
• Holiday Programs – The New York Cares Coat Drive and Winter Wishes offer excellent opportunities for youth volunteers to organize their peers or join their families in meeting immediate needs in the city.
   
• Family Friendly Opportunities – A select number of our ongoing volunteer projects are marked "Family Friendly."
   
• Other Opportunities – Many organizations offer opportunities for youth under the age of 18 to volunteer on their own. View our list of New York City nonprofits that welcome youth volunteers, or visit volunteermatch.org, servenet.org, or kidsforcommunity.org for more service opportunities.
